Salad-Creations

So I have a confession.  When it comes to making easy to go salads, I cheat a little.  To make my life easier, and to make the salad making process better for me, I cheat by buying Salad Mixes then I add in my Salad Fixings from there.

These Wild Oats Salad Mixes from Fresh and Easy ARE GREAT, and the best part?  They’re Organic too.

With that being said, here are 3 GREAT ways to Freshen Up Your Salads:

Freshen Up Your Baby Lead Spring Mix Salad by:

These salad mixes are great for adding in fruits, nuts, crumbled cheeses, etc.  So, what we did was cut up a few strawberries, tossed them into the salad then topped with Feta Crumble Cheese.  Mixed up the salad then added more fruit and cheese.

Right now, with it being fall, it’d be great to toss in some apples and walnuts then top with a light fruit vinaigrette or during the summer to use some of those fresh berries with this salad mix.  You can change it up throughout the year with what’s in season.

Freshen Up your Italian Salad Mix by:

I love ITALIAN Salads.  The first thing that always comes to mind for me is a nice Caesar Salad, and recreating that salad with an Italian Salad mix couldn’t be easier.  Just purchase some Caesar Croutons then toss in some parmesan cheese, and you’re all set.  Top with your favorite dressing then, of course, mix it up with your favorite Italian Meal (pasta anyone?)

Freshen Up Your Spinach Salad by:

Whenever I think of Spinach, I can’t help but thing back to Popeye.  It cracks me up every time, but over the years I’ve learned how good Spinach can be, but not only that, it’s one of the easiest to make a salad out of.

The best part of Spinach Salads is how well it mixes with some of your favorite veggies.  Add in your tomatoes, carrots, relish, cucumbers, or whatever else you enjoy in your salads.

For the salad above I kept it pretty basic by adding in tomatoes then tossing in some shredded mozzarella cheese and some feta crumbles.  BUT, now I’m set for lunches at work throughout the week.

And, for that exact reason, is why I love buying Salad Mixes to make my life just a tad bit easier, and from what I can tell, these Wild Oats Organic Salad Mixes from Fresh and Easy did just the trick.
