Do you have a family, a job, maybe your own business? Does it feel like you get up in the morning and never stop until your head touches the pillow at night?

In this busy world, it's more important than ever to make sure you look after yourself and make sure you take time to recharge and renew. If you don't take care of yourself, you'll eventually burn out - and then how can you take care of others?

So do the best thing for yourself and your family - STOP. Make your favourite drink. Sit comfortably. And then, take a few minutes to read through these five inspirational ideas on how to spend some quality 'me time' . I promise you, you deserve it!

ONE: BOOK A MAKEUP LESSON

Have you been wearing your makeup the same way for.... well, years? If so, don't worry - you're not alone! We all tend to get stuck in a rut with the same products that we keep on wearing, and are scared to try out new things in case they don't suit us and we end up wasting money.

So here's a great idea; book a makeup lesson with an independent local makeup artist. After all, isn't it weird that wearing makeup can be so much a part of our identity - yet we've never been taught properly how to wear it? An independent artist will show you how to use colours that suit you, how to apply different looks, and most importantly, they have no agenda to try and sell you any products... unlike those department store ladies!

Be prepared to be amazed at how the right products will make you look younger, fresher and accentuate your natural beauty rather than cover it up!

TWO: STEP INTO NATURE

It's official - being surrounded by nature is good for not just our physical wellbeing, but also our mental health. You don't have to be a keen hiker, or outdoorsy type to just get out there; a gentle stroll in local woodland, just for half an hour or so, will blow away the cobwebs of your mind, as they say.

Not only that - you'll be mentally more focused and re-energised, so you'll be far more efficient when you get back to the daily grind!

Don't think you have time to get out in the countryside? A local park, or even a quiet corner of the garden will help you achieve the same result. Take a rug, sit, and mentally drink in all those amazing sounds and feelings around you. Literally, the birds and the bees can make you feel alive!

Does a networking lunch sounds more like work than fun? Then you haven't been to one recently!

If you're in business, then there are a whole host of events which are designed specifically for women. Forget those formal BNI style meetings which are all about passing referrals and sell, sell sell; the modern women's networking event is relaxed, informal, supportive and lots and lots of fun!
