Manchester Deansgate. Why don’t you try these 5 things to do today?
Lunch
One of the best places to have a quick lunch is Katsouris Delicatessen at 113 Deansgate, Manchester. At lunchtime it’s busy with local business people either eating in or grabbing take outs to take back to the office. This Manchester Deli is a couple of minutes walk away from House of Fraser and on the same side as Waterstones book store.

Breakfast
If you would like breakfast on Deansgate then try the full English breakfast at San Carlo Cicchetti restaurant. It’s situated in House of Fraser and serves a large well priced breakfast called the Great Cicchetti Breakfast.
Coffee
If you are in need of a coffee at the start of your Manchester shop then you could do a lot worse than going to 47 King Street West. This is not just a coffee shop but a fully blown restaurant with great reviews. However if you are wanting coffee in the morning then this place is hard to beat. Coffee can be ordered in a Cafetiere for either one or two people – there is a huge selection of different blends!

Browsing
In my opinion there are two excellent places to browse in Manchester’s Deansgate. One being Forsyth’s Music Shop and the other being Waterstones Bookshop.
Forsyth’s Music Shop is a very traditional music shop. You feel that little has changed since it opened in Manchester in 1857. Forsyth’s is a large three floor music shop, the ground being sheet music and compact discs (mainly classical and Jazz). The second floor displays a large range of pianos. This youtube video below does the shop more justice than my description.

Waterstones bookshop needs little explanation but in the age of Amazon’s Kindle and other readers it’s being able to relax and look around at real books is a pleasure – even if you do make a note of them and download them onto your device later. This Waterstones has a bar and coffee shop on the upper floor too so you can read your purchases in comfort in the Grand Cafe.

Drinking
Just off Deansgate in Manchester you will find an ultra modern area called Spinningfields. This area houses bars, restaurants and designer shops such as Armani. At number 3 Hardman Street you will find a wine/cocktail bar called The Alchemist. This bar serves a wide range of food and wine in plush surroundings.
