9 Back-To-School College Dorm Organizing Essentials

Posted on the 21 August 2014 by Jillofalltrades @JillDeTrabajos
I scoured Amazon and found the 9 college dorm organizing essentials I would most recommend--and most of them are on sale!
In fact at current prices you could buy all 9 items for just under $100.00!
I did the bargain shopping for you.  :)
There is a photo at the bottom of the post with all of them pictured, perfect for pinning or tweeting, if you want to share this with your friends (and family--graduation gifts anyone?)!

1. Command Hooks
-Useful in any dorm.  Wallspace is underutilized and the command hooks don't leave a mark, so you won't have to worry about any fees!
2. Hanger Cascader
-Pretty much anything that will let you use every inch of your closet is a necessity, because chances are that's the only storage space you'll be given.
3. Bedside Organizer
-I WISH I'd known about this when I was in college.  You can keep your bed stuff next to you without having to fret about fitting a nightstand in (probably impossible) or having to leave your phone on the floor.
4. Bike Hook
-If they'll let you hang anything in your room, this is the thing to do.  You won't have to worry about leaving your bike outside.  SUPER helpful.
5. Hamper/Laundry Sack
-Why buy a separate hamper and laundry sack?  This guy doubles as both and if all you have to do is pick up your full hamper and walk to the laundry room, and not transfer all your nasty laundry to another bag first, you're much more likely to do it when you feel like eating ramen and watching Star Wars instead.
6. Belt/Scarf Hanger
-Don't be fooled.  This doesn't have to be a belt/scarf hanger (unless you happen to have tons of those things).  This hanger can be ANYTHING.  It is the Superman of hangers.  And again, more efficient use of that closet space.
7. Mesh Bathroom Tote
-It's mesh so it will squish into a more awkward space, and has no metal on it so it won't rust (which mine did, and it was gross, and made me not want to shower).
8. Under-Bed Shoe Organizer
-If you have lots of shoes, this is my best recommendation, because you will quickly find there is nowhere else for them.
9. Thermos
-You won't have time to drink all your coffee before you leave for class.  Just trust me on this one.  There will be days when you literally roll out of bed, pull on yesterday's clothes from the floor, grab your thermos and fill it at the cafe on the way to class--and that's it.  No deodorant, no breakfast, no makeup.  Coffee will be all you have, so treat it well.
