9/11

Posted on the 12 September 2012 by Nickmcdonald @W_W_O_Nick_McD
Sup people?!?! It's September 11th today, this is a day that always gets me thinking about one thing in particular and it's something that I'd like to share.
Before I start I'll put in a small disclaimer so I don't get a bunch of people writing pissed off comments and hating on me. 9/11 was a tragedy, it should have never happened and I feel for the people who suffered as a result of it. That being said, it's over publicized in my opinion.
Lets look at some facts, on 9/11 around 3000 people died, thats common knowledge. What isn't common knowledge that according to the US census bureau approximately 55,503,922 people die every year. That's 152,066 per day, 6,336 per hour, 106 per minute, 1.8 per second. Do you get where I'm going with this? I'll stop with the stats, just one more thing; It's the 11th anniversary today, that means that since September 11th 2001 approximately 610,546,142 people have died, if 9/11 hadn't happened that number would have been 610,543,142. Not exactly that huge significant change that we see it as.
People in modern society don't seem to understand the world that we live in, it's not this squeaky clean world full of people going about their day in freshly pressed business suits, working in a big building hidden from all danger. Our world is dirty and messy and full of death, I remember writing about the 99% a while back and this is along the same lines as that. If you are reading this you probably aren't in the 99%, The 99% are homeless, or live in third world countries, or something along those lines and they live a much harder and shorter life than we do.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't care about the people that died that day, just that we should care more about the 100,000 people that died that day who had never even known what the twin towers were because they only knew of their world, the people who died of starvation, drought, war, disease and lived a much more brutal life than those who died when the towers fell.
Thats all for now, I'm bored and need to do some gaming or something before I die of boredom.
Or I might just go to sleep.....
