A Students Blog Entry #2

How have three years in a university helped me understand uni life and its students?

-Hunger-

A one of a kind student I was. I was always prepared for a mugging in the streets of London, prepared for unsuspecting weather conditions, prepared for the long commute ahead of me from my student hall to the university's campus...but never was a I prepared for the inconvenient rumbling of my starving tummy. Why do you forsake me tummy? If only the pepper spray I carried with me were a can of spray cheese would I have then been prepared for such unfortunate times. Many times have I sat down in class, and by the time its halfway over, my stomach decides to recite such a harmonious symphony of unattractive growls. No sir, I did not like it at all :(This is normal for any student FYI. You have to consider the variables to the cause:
  • What time is your class?
    • Morning
      • Try to wake up early and have breakfast! If you dont have time for that, try t have a heavy dinner. Those of you who are weight conscious will regrettably feel bad afterwards - next time wake up for bfast.
    • Afternoon
      • You would have had time to eat; if not - bring a snack with you!
  • How many times a day do you have class?
    • 1-2 times
      • Having a little snack break is advisable / dont skip lunch time if you didnt have bfast :)
    • 3-6 times
      • DAMN! You best wake up early and have your breakfast! While your at it, pack yourself a sandwich...you're going to need it. Dont forget a good nights rest for the hectic day ahead.

What I have typed above should be helpful for any starving student. Its clear that having breakfast is really important...and it is! Also preparing yourself with a snack is really handy as well. However what I have forgotten to mention is that if you are lucky enough to have restaurants close by  or even a cafeteria, make sure to have some money on you (if you have the urge to buy something) but im sure most university's have those, unless your university is really deprived of these facilities. A students blog entry #2Uncle Toby's Crunchy Granola Bar-My choice of snack today- - Past event - So I was sitting in a two hour exam (i dont even rmbr which module), which i prepared myself with the necessary notes before hand, I studied my butt off. yes indeedy i did. Im sure my chair still has the imprints of my rear end. Most importantly, I had enough sleep and snacked on the way to the Uni.
So during exams you have a specific time where you are not allowed to leave anymore, yes?
Well close to that time (so it was nearly over) did I feel that wretched feeling down in my stomach. Oh yes. As if it were connected to surround sound speakers, it happened....My stomach made its usual cry for hunger, echoing through the exam hall. God i wanted to die....
I clenched my stomach to prevent it from happening again, but to no avail, as if the sea of students wanted an encore, my tummy complied. kill me.
It was after that horrific time time did i start to feed myself more often. My body still hates me for the weight gain :P
