An Autumn for all the family – autumn activities everyone will love
So, November is upon us and before we know it, we’re going to be hearing nothing but Christmas music, seeing nothing but children’s toys adverts and wondering where the year has gone. Love it or hate it, Christmas is on the way, but before your home gets taken over by tinsel and you’re trying to choose the best designer handbags to ask Father Christmas for,  make sure you’ve made the most of your Autumn days and tick off these Autumn activities that everyone will love. Do them quick – while there are still some sunny days left!
Host a bonfire
You might have plans to go to a licensed, community firework display in November, but that doesn’t mean you can’t recreate something similar at home. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and choose a dry later afternoon/early evening. Get a firepit or even the BBQ going again, and you can cook sausages, burgers, even jacket potatoes with delicious warming fillings. Get the neighbours and the family over and you might even create a family tradition! The kids will love roasting marshmallows on the open fire, and when it’s a little too chilly, everyone can come inside!
Do something spooky
Most Halloween events stretch past October 31st and usually end around November 5th, so you still have time to take advantage of all the Halloween activities in your local area. Take an older child to the cinema to see something scary or treat them to a visit to a haunted house or get chased around a maze.
Plan a weekend escape
Fall is a beautiful time of year, so take full advantage of those sunny but chilly days and book you and your family a weekend away. You could have fun glamping, but rest assured that you’ll always be warm and toasty through the night, head to a caravan park before the end of the season and take advantage of their lower prices or go somewhere completely new – maybe with your own private hot tub and bring in the end of Autumn in style.
Eat, eat, eat
From sweet potatoes, to squash, cranberries, aubergine, broccoli and of course pumpkin! Autumn is bursting with delicious fruits and veggies, perfect for turning into stews, soups, cakes and bakes. So why not try something new? Even the fussiest of eaters will love to try a Halloween inspired treat so get the kids involved too and see what you can come up with. Pumpkins will be reduced in price after Halloween!
Go for a welly walk
Before all the leaves fall from the trees, take the family for a beautiful walk through the Autumnal sunshine. See what creatures you can spot as they get ready for winter, see who can collect the most pinecones or the most colourful leaves and who can make the biggest puddle splash. Take a flask of something hot and maybe even a picnic if you want to make an afternoon of it – and if the weather allows!
