An Open Letter to #junioradmin...

Posted on the 30 August 2012 by Felicakes @felicakes

Dear #junioradmin,
I hope this letter finds you well.  I hope the recent event has taught you a good lesson about work ethics and about having a good balance between a social life and a working life.
You really let us down with your constant lies and excuses. It was a shame because you started out really really well and aced the interview. Despite warnings and the senior staff trying to help you, you still didn't want to help yourself and at the end, I think I was fed up with all the dramas.
I am quite surprise that you took this job like it were a joke. I am sure the word "redundancy"  is not in your vocabulary. You see, it is one word that I fear the most in my working life. Being made redundant is not an option for me. Have you not seen the latest unemployment rates in Australia ? Although it may not be as high as say Greece or USA, still it's something to think about.

You are so lucky to have gotten a job in an office paying you higher than minimum wage. Have you taken a look outside lately? Have you seen the number of people out of a job and is desperately seeking for a job to be able to afford that roof over their head or to put food on the family table? You are so lucky that your father is still wanting to support you. I remember as soon as I got a job, my father stop sending me money and said I was on my own now and Good Luck.
To be fair, you are still very young. I remember when I was that age, I was out partying all night, but I still turn up to work the next day. I was still professional and I was still eager to do my job and not let my other colleagues down. You should have known that partying out all night and all weekend will make you feel ill, then don’t do it. If you want to have a life of partying then don’t work. It is not fair for the rest of us who depended on you so much to get our work done only to end up doing your work as well because you were too hungover to work.
I hope next time, at your new job, you will take it seriously. I hope next time, at your new job, you dress appropriately. I hope next time, at your new job, you take into account that at work, it is always about teamwork and there is no I in TEAM. :)
Yours sincerely
felicakes.
