Well, obviously, something was afoot.
For one thing, the tops of the buildings were swallowed up in the mist.
Then the vans came by, six of them in a row,
proclaiming that the end was nigh.
Nothing for it but to eat,
drink,
and be merry
since things are certainly going to the dogs
and the wolves.
