ENG. So doesn’t it happen to you that whenever you go to the US your friends always ask you to bring something back from there? Well it happens a lot to me, but thanks God I have cool friends who always ask me to get stuff from fun stores like the Apple Store in Grand Central Station. So let's say this time it was not a sacrifice to go and get my friend Sascha’s iPod Classic since I was dying to go and see the new store in Grand Central, and let's say I totally loved it!
It took me a while to find the store… 1st because Juana is a bit distracted and even if it is in front of her face she cannot see it, 2nd because I should be using my glasses more frequently so I can see a bit more and 3rd because it is not the “normal” store format, it is actually an open space! The apple store in Grand Central is actually part of the train station and it overlooks Grand Central’s main concourse from the East and Northeast balconies. It is also one of Apple’s largest stores, it is 23,000 square feet. The fact that it is an open space is a genius idea that totally goes along with the concept of fast shopping: so how about while you’re waiting for your train, upu go and grab some stuff at the Apple store? I am totally into that!
In the Grand Central Terminal store they have everything a customer likes about an Apple store and even more. They have tech support, personal training, set up product rooms, and personal pickup if you prefer to buy from your computer, iPhone or iPad and grab it as you go. Also, if you are in a hurry you can try the easy pay, Apple’s new self-checkout program. All specialists have the Easypay device where they can swipe your credit card at any moment, you sign with your finger and they email your receipt. Trust me, I tried it and it is super fast.
So if you are to NY go and visit the store, not only because it has all the Apple products that we love, and it is fast, but also because it is worth to see the mix of such a modern technological store in such an old beautiful building as the Grand Central Terminal.
ESP. ¿No les ha pasado a ustedes que cada vez que viajan a Estados Unidos sus amigos siempre les piden encargos? Pues a mí me pasa seguido, pero gracias a Dios tengo amigos bien chéveres que me piden traerles cosas de tiendas divertidas como la tienda de Apple en Grand Central Terminal. Entonces esta vez puedo decir que no fue un “sacrificio” ir a comprar el iPod Classic de mi amigo Sascha, ya que me estaba muriendo por ver la nueva tienda de Apple ¡y les puedo decir que me encantó!
Me tomó un resto de tiempo encontrar la tienda… 1. Porque Juana es super distraída y aunque las cosas estén al frente de sus narices no las logra ver, 2. Porque deberia ponerme mis gafas más a menudo para poder ver un poquito mejor, 3. Y finalmente porque la nueva tienda de Apple no tiene el formato tradicional de una tienda ¡es más bien un espacio abierto! La tienda de Apple en Grand Central es parte de la estación y está localizada al frente de la explanada principal en los balcones de la parte este y noreste. Es también una de las tiendas más grandes que tiene Apple ya que tiene 23,000 metros cuadrados. El hecho de que sea un espacio abierto me parece una idea genial y está totalmente en línea con la idea de compra rápida: entonces, mientras estás esperando por tu tren ¿qué tal si compras algo en Apple? ¡Yo lo haría totalmente!
La tienda de Gran Central Terminal tiene todo lo que un cliente Apple quiere y mucho más. Tienen soporte técnico, entrenamiento personal, cuartos en los que te enseñan cómo usar los productos, un servicio para recoger tus productos que puedes ordenar por iPhone, iPad o tu computador mientras estás camino a casa. También si estás de prisa puedes intentar el pago fácil que es el nuevo programa de pago de Apple. Todos los vendedores tienen el dispositivo donde sólo tienes que pasar tu tarjeta de crédito y en un instante pagas, firmando el recibo con tu dedo en el aparato. Ellos después te piden tu correo electrónico para mandarte tu recibo. Créanme, yo pague a través de este servicio ¡y fue súper fácil y rápido!
Entonces si te encuentras en NY no te olvides de visitar esta tienda no sólo porque tiene todo los productos Apple que nos encantan y porque puedes comprar rápidamente, sino también porque vale la pena ver la mezcla de una tienda tan moderna y tecnológica como Apple en un lugar tan antiguo y hermoso como la Gran Central Terminal.
