Happy Monday, and more importantly, happy Shark Week!
Yesterday saw the beginning of the 29th year of this mid-summer, Discovery Channel tradition.
Last night’s big event — Michael Phelps vs. a Great White Shark — disappointed some, since Discovery didn’t make the Olympic athlete swim in open water with an actual Great White.
Yes, people can be strange, but the beginning of Shark Week provides the perfect motivation to kick off your week. After all, what’s more motivating than a shark?
Thanks to pop culture, they’ve become the things that nightmares are made of. Like us, they have their bad days when they decide to lash out at the nearest boat…we all deal with our hangry in our own way.
These terrors of the deep have their good qualities too. Their persistence may not seem that appealing to their prey, but you’ve got to admire their determination.
Their teeth might be sharp and pointy, but they’ve got great smiles…all 2 to 15 rows of them.
Underneath that slightly terrifying, pointy tooth exterior they’re fascinating creatures who do their own thing without apology.
So, in conclusion, take on this week like a shark. Be fierce, be bold, and most importantly, be you…and try not to bite any boats.
