…be Clear

Posted on the 23 July 2012 by Zer @the2women

…be clearSometimes it’s amazing the things people will pay for, sometimes it’s amazing the things people will charge for, and sometimes it’s absolutely astounding that they find each other.

Such is the case for The Molecule Water Cafe in NYC, where they sell (give you three guesses)…water.

But wait, this isn’t just any water, it’s tap water, that’s been filtered to the point of extreme purity at which point you can pay to add minerals and vitamins to it.

I am all for clean water.  It’s a good thing, yay clean water!  Hydration, also a wonderful thing.  In a world where only 1% of the 70% water covering our planet is accessible and drinkable I get the need for it.

Is that need really so great in New York?  Add the fact that you’re essentially charging people to come and fill their water bottles, and I just can’t wrap my mind around it.

I don’t doubt that the process by which they cleanse this water is expensive (ultraviolet rays are involved), and I wouldn’t dare suggest that certain at home devices (rhymes with frita quilter…sort of) can accomplish the same thing.

But, as a creepy voice in an Iowegian cornfield so aptly put, “If you build it, they will come.”  It’s true of deceased baseball players and apparently it’s true of H2O enthusiasts.  Will they stick around? We’ll have to wait and see.
