Happy Monday, crusaders!
Today the world acknowledges the International Day of Friendship, a global holiday created by the United Nations in 1997. And it's here just in the nick of time because, frankly, I think we could ALL use a reminder of the importance of friendship (particularly international friendship).
Of course, friendships don't have to be international to be important or impactful. True friendship is one of the most valuable things any of us can have, yet it costs nothing.
Of course, friendship doesn't mean that everything is always harmonious. The only thing more uniquely human than friendship is our ability to disagree, even with those closest to us.
And that's what so remarkable about friendship. It may have its ups and downs, but at the end of the day, our best friends stick around through all the roller coasters and beyond.
So this International Day of Friendship, I hope we all remember the true value of friendship and the lessons they can teach us throughout our lives.
