Black & Yellow

Posted on the 03 July 2012 by Marissa Sexton @marissa_ela

I dislike creatures.
Not animals... creatures.  Little, big, crawly, ones that fly - take your pick.
My biggest fears lie with these menaces to society:   Bees aka Wasps, Yellow Jackets, Little buzzy things that sting... I'm not sure if it's because I've been watching re-runs of Billy the Exterminator on Netflix that these creatures have sensed a need for their presence, but let me be the first to shout from the rooftops. Literally. If a bee is seen flying over head, no matter how near or far, you can bet your bottom dollar there I'll be waving & screaming from the rooftops.
Bats aka 'Holy $h!t' Run For Your Life... & I'm not kidding. I often work late into the night on homework, blogging or Pinterest and one evening around 2 a.m. this mysterious creature (there's that word again) with wings floated through my living room. Could have been a bird, a bat, even a fly... but, no matter what it was, it was out to get me. Hiding beneath a pillow smaller than my a$$ did me no good, so the only option I had was to run for my life. And I did. Right into the bedroom & underneath my comforter. 'Cause that was much more protective than that pillow... and bigger too.
Spiders aka Ants, Cockroaches, Daddy Long Legs (who names these things?), Anything that nests its home in a web. Admittedly, spiders aren't as bad as the first two, but they must be bad enough to warrant their own category. And again, maybe I'm watching too much Netflix, but with all the webs that have taken up residence in my hedges I'm guessing we've got a few unwanted friends.
If you've got an aversion towards creatures, you're not alone. There is help. Namely, Billy the Exterminator, but unless you live in the bayous of Louisiana, he won't do you much good. Did I mention snakes? They're a problem too.
Hopefully this will be my only post on creatures and why they feel the need to infiltrate my surroundings as of late.
As always, thanks for listening!
