…Change

Posted on the 20 September 2014 by Zer @the2women

earthThis is a big week for climate change.  Not in the catastrophic, apocalyptic weather event sense, but in a much more positive call-to-action way.

Tomorrow will see one of the biggest demonstrations ever in support of increased awareness, and political action to counteract climate change.  More than 100,000 people are expected to participate in the People’s Climate March in New York.

The reason for this march is the gathering happening later this week at the UN headquarters in New York.  The event, the Climate Summit 2014, will bring together the worlds leaders to discuss plans to battle climate change.

In order to prep for the summit, the UN has even taken the initiative to consider the public’s feeling on climate change, or at least those that have a Twitter account.

The UN’s climate change Twitter-tracker has been tracking the Twittersphere’s conversation on global warming leading up to the summit.

Of course, in the large uphill battle to combat climate change will a march, and a Twitter-tracker really make that big of a difference?  Perhaps not, but saying nothing doesn’t seem like a good alternative.
