Holiday drinks have arrived at your neighborhood Starbucks!
It’s not quite the celebration the the return of the #PSL (pumpkin spice latte) is, but fans look forward to their gingerbread, caramel, Christmas concoctions too. And what would the holiday season be without eggnog lattes?
We almost had to find out. Don’t worry, crisis has been averted, but it was a scary few days there.
In a moment of misreading the masses Starbucks made the foolish mistake of quietly doing away with this holiday favorite, but its fans would not stay silent. They took to social media and demanded that the coffee chain bring back the nog…and yes there was a hashtag and a Twitter profile: #bringbackthenog @TheEggnogLatte.
With an effort like that Starbucks of course had no choice but to bring back the beverage.
It’s really just a reminder of what we can accomplish when deprived of our seasonal drinks, and right on the heels of the rebirth of Surge (not seasonal, but still resurrected) and the Twinkie (not a beverage, but still beloved) it was good to get another victory. It was a movement, a movement to make sure no Christmas is nogless…and we won America…I mean world. What’s next? Only time (and hashtags) will tell.
