Ingredients

  • 2 Small Packages Hamburger Meat (Around 1 lb in each)
  • 1 Package Hamburger Buns
  • 1 Tbs Season Salt
  • Dash of Black Pepper
  • Sliced Cheese

Instructions

  1. Open the 1 package of ground beef and put it into a bowel, add the season salt & black pepper. Mix just enough to sort of pack the beef tightly in the bowel.
  2. Cover your cutting board with a piece of plastic wrap. I usually just wrap it completely around it to keep it in place.
  3. Take your desired amount of hamburger and form it into a ball, without mashing the meat. I usually just roll it slightly in my palms. Place the hamburger on the cutting board.
  4. Next grab a small plastic container. I use a square container that I use to put left overs in. Place the container on top of the hamburger. Press down on the inside of the container from the top until your patty reaches your desired thickness.
  5. Gently place your patty onto a plate until ready for cooking.
  6. Repeat this process until you've made all your patties. When its time to open the other package of meat just repeat the seasoning process and then make your patties.
  7. Cook the hamburgers over a stove top griddle or grill pan if you have one available, if not any old skillet will do. I like to use my cast iron reversible griddle on the side with the ridges.
  8. Cook about 4-6 minutes (depending on thickness).
  9. *Optional* Sprinkle a little more season salt on the patties.
  10. Flip, and cook 4-6 minutes on the other side.
  11. With about 1 minute left, add the sliced cheese to the patties.
  12. Remove from griddle or skillet and place on a plate.
  13. Let the meat rest until the buns are done.
  14. Place the buns on the griddle or skillet with all the good stuff from the hamburgers. Warm the buns 1-3 minutes on each side. I like to take a spoon and on both halves of the bun spoon a little of the grease from the hamburgers before placing on the griddle.
  15. When your buns are ready assemble your burger.
