Church Wedding in Exmoor: The Wedding Ceremony

Posted on the 19 September 2016 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

Good morning! It's time to take a look at a gorgeous church wedding in Exmoor, Somerset, which we've already spied a peek at the bridal prep images on the blog: and now's it's time to take a look at the big event, the wedding ceremony! I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful location for a church, or indeed a prettier church; this gorgeous building, in the tiny village of Selworthy near Minehead, is just picture perfect. Just LOOK at that view....

Like many British wedding days, we did have a dot or two of rain - but that certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits, or indeed spoil idyllic feel of the location in which the couple married! The bride had chosen to return to the family home to celebrate her marriage, which is always such an immensely special moment in the life of everyone in the family. This church already held many wonderful memories for the bride's family, and so this magical day, returning to this beautiful little church to celebrate another family wedding, could never fail to be anything other than extra special.

Although a church wedding ceremony is obviously a serious occasion, happiness just tends to spill out over everything, particularly when you are privileged enough to have a bride whose smile lights up a room like this gorgeous girl's does! From a photographer's perspective, I'm so lucky to be able to work with brides who are not only so gorgeous, but also whose personality absolutely shines out of them and into the images. Added to that, this bride and groom are just THE most delightful people to work for; my job is really such a pleasure on days like this!

So let's go back to this lovely, lovely church wedding in Exmoor at the utterly charming village of Selworthy, and take a look at some of my favourite images from this wedding day. Oh - and it just so happened to be on my birthday, too!
