Clearing Space + Positive Attitude = Surprising Treasures Never Before Seen?

Posted on the 05 February 2013 by Juliejordanscott @juliejordanscot

You know the feeling that something very cool is happening even before it happens? It is like a certain buzzing in your spirit and you simply have to wait for the surprise to be uncovered. I bet you know what I mean.

Yesterday I cleared out more stuff from my garage. Currently I have three bags by the door to go to Goodwill before my afternoon kidschlep. I have rescued some items and put them into their proper place. Flat out trash is in a trash bag ready to be dumped.

This morning I went to fetch Samuel’s sweatshirt from my folded laundry and the strangest thing had happened sometime during the night.

Magical archway? Trellis doorway? Garden Arch? Magical archway? Trellis doorway? Garden Arch? Somehow one of those…. I don’t even know what they’re called…. Magical archways?... trellis doorways?... whatever they are… here’s a photo… was sitting at the entrance of my garage. Yes, I know, it is in great need of upcycling which I will love doing, but do you know how long I have wanted one of these babies?

It has been as long as my favorite sketch from 1909 has sat in my garage, waiting for me to take it out and hang it.

That would be upwards of twenty years.

Twenty years from wanting to manifesting and when it showed up from who knows who and plunked itself in my backyard I almost fell over with delight. I looked over my shoulder expecting the music from Twilight Zone to start playing. It didn’t. The only sound that greeted me was a lustily singing mockingbird. I moved the wonderful find onto my dogs’ path through my back lawn. I didn’t have time to think about it much because it

Walt the Wonder Dog walks on his pathway underneath the arch. He seems to like it... Walt the Wonder Dog walks on his pathway underneath the arch. He seems to like it.... was “time to get the kids to school!” morning time.

When I returned and settled into my writing morning, I would declare to all the Divine sent me a message saying, “If I can bring this to you, can you doubt I can bring anything to you?”

I have spent too much of my time fretting over how I will solve things, how I will “get what I need” how I will finagle this or that.

For twenty years I have wanted this particular style item. I probably would have

A Mockingbird Serenaded me from that telephone pole later in the day. bought it new but believe it or not, in my eyes this is so much better than brand new.

I thought my garage clearing was about finding my misplaced or tucked away treasures. I hadn’t realized clearing space meant new to me treasures would find their way to my home. How glorious is this?

I have asked my children if they knew where this came from. Both deny it. Samuel may have a better idea than Emma, but he isn’t talking. It isn’t like a basket one could pick up from the front of someone’s house, it is a large, heavy piece of metal. A doorway, a path marker, a “something I have always wanted.”

I’m deciding now how exactly to rehab it.

I know it will be beautiful.
