On the eve of the Royal Wedding, the world is divided into (more or less) two camps — those anxiously awaiting the forthcoming nuptials between Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle, and those who could care less.
As you might have guessed, I fit into the former group, and I’d like to plead my case.
Whether you’ve been counting down the days or not, you have to admit that, historically speaking, this is a pretty cool moment. Aside from the obvious former friction between the US and the UK, this wedding is a sign that the royal ways of the past are in fact in the past.
I’ll assume that you either know the history or don’t care to, but simply put, an American marrying into the British royal family is huge (Google it). Add in the fact that Ms. Markle was previously married, and let’s just say this goes against precedent.
In other words, it’s a big deal.
Plus, with all the tradition, hats, fashion, pomp, circumstance, and the cutest bridal party ever, it’s really hard to not get sucked in to the excitement.
