I have to express something and it feels so contrary to even say it so I am just going to breathe it out:
I’m feeling creatively flat.
Maybe I’m just tired and perhaps the last of the chemo effects are coming out of me, but even following the flow seems to have dried up as it seems like there is no flow to be had.
Yesterday I dragged my butt to open studio and created these Literary Granny frames for HD (Imagist poet also known as Hilda Doolittle) and Eudora Welty. I don’t care for green so that choice surprised me but when I worked on it I didn’t even think, “I don’t like green what am I doing?”
They aren’t done: I am going to add portraits of each Literary Granny in the middle of the frames as well.
What do you do when you are creatively flat in order to CONTINUE CREATING ANYWAY? I have my own ideas and have put some into play here, obviously. I’m simply curious to see how other artistic folks cope.
