Daily Moment: The Morning After

Posted on the 19 January 2013 by Sharasekaram @sharasekaram
Last night I went out after quite a while. In fact since NYE I haven't seen the smoky, alcohol scented, loud interiors of our Colombo bar's and club's. So armed with a girlfriend, a bullfrog (seriously those things should be illegal) and heels - The Floor and I made friends again.
Daily Moment: The Morning AfterWe skipped clubbing this time, but it reminded me how half the fun is not in the drinks or the place - it's in the people you are with. Last night was a great group of mostly girls (super unusual for me, most women make me want to hit them. But this crowd I really like). Funny thing is during December when it feels like everyone and their mother is out - I actually hardly see these guys. But 'off season', when everyone has had stressful weeks - which is almost every week - there we are.
The place was packed as it is on Friday's but clearly I go there too much - my waiter (yes I have one) yammered on about how it had been ages, sent my friend and me our bullfrogs and got us a table in 15 minutes after I walked in the door. Ah perks of being a regular. Double perks because the group I was with had their own fawning waiter - who mixed lethal pitchers and gave out free shots. Ah life how good you are.
With the stress of law school building up, nothing like a real fun night to help you unwind. Hopefully these will get me through the next five months with my sanity intact.
