Deception

Through the sliding doors
Of a window,
In a highrise,
I saw her,
Peeping out
For some air,
Founding none,
She lighted her cigarette
Smoked hazed around her face
For a while,
I could only picture,
the highlights of her body
Nothing inside it
I did not know her
But I liked what I saw
And I couldn't see much
Except the outerlinings of a cocoon
And the insides lay unexplored
It's quite simple and similar,
the same way we learn
Who loves us and who doesn't
The highlights,
They are deceptive
They mislead, like
her charm persisted
Till the time smoke remained
And it washed away
As soon as the air cleared
Gone,
In a flash
