DFA Authentication Experience

November 5, 2013: I received the documents from RTC QC branch after a week or two.
November 7, 2013: After I received my important papers from the RTC and NSO, I went to DFA Megamall for the authentication. This is where we requested our passports also together with my brother, daugther and grandmother but today is for Red Ribbon stuff.
Carrying the papers available:

• Affidavit of Custody
• Joint-Affidavit of Two Disinterested Persons
• Birth Certificate (mine/ daughter)
• Cenomar

Went to the 5th floor via elevator and walked further north and you can see the Parking Lot sign to the left facing from the elevator. On the first door you will see those people lined up for the passport, 2nd door would be the exit point of those came from door 1. Door 3 is for personnel. Door 4 is the rest room. Door 5 is for releasing of passport and Door 6 I found the Authentication. You can read the steps there on the wall deliberately. I went to the first window to get the form and filled it up with my information and checked all the documents on hand from the checklist. Window 2 is where they will check your documents and I choose the expedite process which is 200php per document and you can get it the next day (100php regular process that takes 4-5 working days). He gave me the receipt and I need to go through the 1st door (where the passport request is) inside there is the Cashier and xerox machine (if you will need to copy something). After all of those I went back to window 2 and they stamped it Expedite and ready for tomorrow.
November 8,2013: Even we are experiencing the super typhoon, I went back to the DFA Megamall and went straight to window 3, you will need to put your receipt in the tiny basket and wait for your name to be called. When I got the documents the staff told me I have discrepancies with my CeNoMar, My second name is written CHRITINE not CHRISTINE.
Another document is my Affidavit of Custody, they were looking for the Annex A and B, good that those papers are also the documents I requested for authentication so I only need to photocopy it and bring it back to window 3. I gave the copy and asked me to wait for an hour for that particular document to be released. with my 3 documents went fine. After an hour I got it and the staff told me to request for a new CeNoMar and bring it again here because I paid already. Finally I can go home.I called the NSO hotline and they checked my request because I was hoping they can redo it without me paying again 450php, but as I checked my email I saw it was my typographical error. I decided to request again and going to be 3-4 working days waiting for it before I can go back to the DFA again.
***Lesson: Always double check your documents when fill in a request forms and receiving documents to save time and effort.
