Do It…

Posted on the 11 December 2012 by Drowqueen @theburnedhand

I know I usually end with a quote, but this struck a cord with me tonight while posting on The Burned Hand’s FB page:

How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
~Dr. Seuss

I have been in some sort of odd mood lately and I can’t shake it.  I see my little girls growing up, and I try to hold on to every moment.  I see myself getting older and I try to do things I haven’t had the chance to do yet.  This morning, a 70-year-old grandpa winked at me and asked me when they hired 16 year olds to teach.  Ha ha ha ha.  He made my morning.  I know age is a state of mind, I know this.  I am working very hard to ignore the aches and pains that come with getting older.  I am working very hard on my spiritual wisdom and less on worldly.  I believe at any age you can learn new things and you are never too old to try something new.

Soooo, once again I was reminded of the fact that I hurried up and filled out my passport information only to let it sit there for months.  I HAVE to get out of this country for a while.  I can’t explain it, but I really need to take a long trip with my family this summer.  Most people plan and save for these sorts of things…I just need to book it.  I spend entirely too long planning what I want to do.  You know the ad.  Just DO it!

“Do it no matter what. If you believe in it, it is something very honorable. If somebody around you or your family does not understand it, then that’s their problem. But if you do have a passion, an honest passion, just do it.”  ~Mario Andretti
