Dove Elixir Oil- A ReviewI stumbled upon a post about Dove Elixir Oil sometime back while I was going through some beauty blogs. I had seen the advertisements on TV but had dismissed it as I am not a fan of Dove hair products. They have not worked for me at all. However the review of this oil somehow interested me and I went to my pharmacy store to pick up HairFall Rescue Oil. I have lately been suffering from intense hairfall issues. The fine print on pack said that you need to apply it only 30 minutes before shampoo. The oil that I had picked up said it contains Rose with Almond oil.
Priced at Rs 185 for 90 ml, this did look very interesting as it contained Almond Oil. According to the instructions, a small amount would be good enough for short hair like mine. So I did that was told. I applied and massaged the oil in my short, wavy and and slightly rough hair. After 30 minutes on the clock, I washed it off with my Lush's Karma Komba Bar. Post washing, drying and conditioning, my hair's texture was the way it was.
After a few washes, I noticed an alarming increase in hairfall. Before I started using Dove Elixir Hairfall rescue I had about few strands falling during my hair wash routine, but after about 4-5 uses, the strands increased by leaps and bounds. This is when I discontinued the use.
However, the few reviews that I have read about this oil I have been very positive and this the reason I went and bought the product in the first place. But I dont think I shall be using it again.
Pros:
1) Good Packaging-Dispenser
2) Pleasant smell
Cons:
1) Its not really NON-STICKY
2) May cause hairfall
3) Contains a large number of chemicals as per the bottle
