Just as the saying goes, hair is our crowning glory. When it looks best, we feel good and confident. It completes the look from head to toe. We love to style our hair be it a DIY at home or getting it done in a salon. However the more we undergo blow-drying, straigthening, curling and other hairstyling treatments, the more we expose it to damage. That's why it's always a must to know the condition of your hair and use proper hair care products.
As a professional hairstylist, I only trust and use brands I've tried and tested to myself and most importantly to my clients. I use products that prevents hair from being damaged due to hairstyling.
I've used several variants of Dove Shampoo and Conditioner before and I can say they are quality products for the price (truly affordable). I remember I was doing my weekly grocery shopping and got surprised when I passed by the hair products shelf and saw Dove styling products! I immediately checked them out and they smell soooo goood! Powdery sweet with mixed floral makes me high. You know I'm a sucker for anything that smells nice.
THE PRODUCTS
Dove Dry ShampooVolume (Refresh + Care)
My heart was jumping with joy seeing this product in the shelf. I got even more excited that it only costs P280.00 for a 141g bottle! I was using before (not sure if you've heard of that brand but I buy it online from the US since it's not available here) and do you know how much is the smallest bottle? It's P519.00 in PH currency, and only lasts me less than a month? So this Dove dry shampoo is now my holy grail. I don't wash my hair everyday since I'm just home most of the time. I do it every other day instead. During those days when I need to go somewhere and my hair feels sticky and oily, I just spray Dove Dry Shampoo 8-12 inches from the roots (where the hair is most oily) and massage it gently to evenly absorb the oil.

It has weightless formula that absorbs oil to transform hair from lifeless to bouncy so your hair feels refreshed and smells so good like it's just freshly washed. It also adds volume! It is very convenient to quickly refresh and revive the hair anytime of the day.
Way back, I didn't know what's the purpose of mousse for the hair. It actually reminds me of food every time I hear it, chocolate mousse to be exact. Anyway, Dove Amplifier Mousse is so gentle and doesn't weigh down the hair.
Just shake the bottle for a few seconds, squeeze in your palm and tada! You got fluffy mousse!
Rub the foam in between the your palms then massage onto the hair.
Start from roots to tips. Make sure you don't put too much cause anything more than normal is bad and it can weigh down the hair.
Blow dry. If you have longer hair, you can part your it into sections and blow dry per section. Use a brush to evenly distribute the product. I suggest a big round brush to add more volume. Dove Amplifier Mousse doesn't only make the hair bouncy and shiny, it prolongs curls too!
Then, for my favorite easy hairstyle that I've been wearing since high school whenever I feel like I want to look different other than wearing my hair down or in a ponytail, here's how quick it is to do.
Dove Extra Hold Hair SprayStrength & Shine (Style & Care)
- After sectioning you hair, work first on the side when you're most comfortable to
- Grab a section of your hair on top and twist it (same as the photo above).
- You can clip it on the side first as you grab another section of your hair below it and twist again.
- Combine the two sections of twisted hair and clip them at the back.
- Do the same thing on the other side.
Here's the final look. You can get strands of hair to fall on both sides to frame your face.
To hold everything in place, I use Dove Extra Hold Hair Spray. Aside from keeping the hair intact, unlike other hairsprays, it doesn't have strong scent that can irritate your nose. It smells exactly the same with the dry shampoo and mousse that I used earlier.
