So on Friday I turned 25, and have spent this weekend celebrating (or commiserating? not sure which is more appropriate). On Friday evening, Rich and I popped into town for Mexican food and too many mojitos, resulting in me falling asleep before 10am and waking up with a sore head! We went to our local Chimichanga and the food was oh-so-tasty; empanadas and chicken wings followed by enchiladas and topped off with a banana burrito!

On Saturday a few of my pals came to visit for the day, which again was spent eating, drinking and being merry. Afternoon tea in my local Vintage Cake House, followed by a mooch round town and soaking up the sunshine. After a glass of bubbly and a make-up session with Kat, we went to my local pub for gourmet burgers and more laughs. Just the most lovely day, made better by seeing my girls!

The cake above was made by my friend Alex; I am so impressed! Two tiers of chocolate sponge, chocolate butter icing, topped with raspberries and trimmed with dark chocolate fingers. In.cred.ible.

Yesterday, Rich's parents, sister and brother in law came down for dinner and to catch up about their wedding and honeymoon. We went to a pub about 5 minutes drive from our flat, and it was just so nice! It was an old mill, with the mill on display and functioning inside the pub, and was set on a gorgeous pond. I had mozzerella, tomato and pesto to start which was served in a cute little kilner jar, followed by chicken leek and ham pie. Yum!Obviously, diet starts today...
