Yesterday saw a small but significant (at least I think so) victory for equality in a small, but significant corner of the world—emoji.
The latest iOS update included, among other things, the rightful inclusion of Canada among those nations with emoji flags, and it is about time. Welcome Canucks!

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t all mention the greatest thing to happen to emoji ever:
Vulcan salute hands! …and all emoji are now far more diverse (although I’m seriously worried about the liver of that first hand), so you can tell your friends to live long and prosper in any pigment you want. Yay!
Full disclosure, you are going to have to work a bit harder for the Vulcan emoji, it’s not included in the standard library, but it’s worth the extra effort.
Now go forth, enjoy your all-inclusive (I’m talking to you Canada) emoji, and of course, live long and prosper.
