Emoji Olympics

Six days into these Olympic games, and we’ve seen quite the mix of Olympic action. From steroid scandal to sexist comments, and (oh yeah) some incredible feats of athletic ability…

Unfortunately, the good has at moments, gotten lost in the spectacle. And although I’m not saying we should ignore the bad. There are definite wrongs that need to be righted. But, just for today, I thought I’d take a moment for the good.

So, here are my favorite moments of the games…so far…

Leslie Jones

I’d also like to nominate Ms. Jones for favorite moments of the summer too. Her unbridled Olympic enthusiasm on social media got her an invite (from her NBC boss) to Rio, and it’s amazing. Oh that we could all have this much enthusiasm.

Simone Biles

The whole group of victorious “Final Five” are of course fantastic, but Simone is absolutely ridiculous.

And you should definitely check out the interactive story the New York Times did on her. If you think her skills are impressive in real-time, just wait until they break it down: Simone Biles.

Fu Yuanhui

This Chinese swimmer’s unbridled enthusiasm for everything is contagious. She’s happy to be there, improving on her own time, and being surprised with medals she didn’t realize she’d won.

Katie Ledecky

After that brief moment of “you called her the female Michael Phelps?” Really?!? The reactions to this incredibly talented (in her own right) swimmer have been priceless.

There's fast and then there's @katieledecky
What should Katie change her name to? 🤔

So, here’s to ten more days of more good than bad.
