…Feel the Rhythm

winter olympics fox GIF by Animation Domination High-DefOne week into the 2018 Winter Olympics there have been plenty of triumphs and disappointments. The thing about the Olympics is that at its heart it is not about winning, it’s about humanity coming together. Which is why it feels appropriate that Random Act of Kindness Day falls right in the middle.

Much like the Olympics, Random Act of Kindness Day reminds us to see the best in those around us.

If you’re not feeling the spirit of the holiday, no worries. Here’s a short, Olympic story to give you the warm and fuzzies. This week, the first women’s Jamaican bobsled team found themselves without a bobsled when one of their coaches decided they were going to confiscate it after a disagreement with the Jamaican Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.

I’ll give you a moment to seethe at the awfulness.

To make a long story short, the team found themselves without a sled mere hours before their competition. Now here come the warm and fuzzies part. The team’s savior came from, of all places, Twitter and another Jamaican icon.

No bobsled, no problem. If you need a new ride @Jambobsled, put it on @RedStripe’s tab. DM us and we’ll be in touch 👌🍻

The moral of the story, sometimes a horrible situation is just another opportunity for humanity to shine.

You don’t have to have a spare bobsled lighting around to participate in Random Act of Kindness Day. All you need is a smile, a tiny bit of optimism, some empathy, and a little time to spare for your fellow humans.
