Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
It’s once again that one day (or let’s face it, month) of the year when everyone claims Irish heritage. We all dawn green, shamrocks, and partake in just about every stereotype concerning Ireland you can possibly imagine. All while honoring the memory of St. Patrick…of course.
And what would a day of generalizing and horrible misrepresentation of a culture be without leprechauns? Or should I say not so distant cousin of the gnome?
In that spirit the Anti-Gnome Task Force (AGTF) would like to share this public service announcement:
I know it’s easy to give in the frivolities of the day, let your guard down, but the plotting nature of these practical joke loving creatures takes no holidays.
Sure they may look innocent with their green outfits, shoe-making occupations, and pots of gold, but don’t let them fool you. These little creatures of the fairy world may be neither good nor evil, but don’t let their small stature or the promise of three wishes lure you in. These are still tricky little creatures. So if you do happen to come across one, keep your guard up, and your wishes incredibly specific.
Remember these tips and we can all have a safe, happy, and fairy creature incident free holiday. Be safe.
