Hey there and happy Fourth of July! I know it's a holiday, but I'm hoping I can have your attention for a few seconds.
I don't know if you noticed, but there's been a serious breakdown in communication recently. I'm talking on all sides here.
Although, I'd like to make the argument that this is nothing new.
We're a country that was founded both on compromise and a total lack there of, so it's no surprise that our communication skills are a little all over the place.
We've never seen eye to eye on everything, and frankly, we'd never have gotten this far if we did. A difference of opinion is what's made us the unique, hot mess of a melting pot we are today. We're not perfect, but we keep trying.
I have faith that we'll figure this out. It will take some time. It'll take some listening. We may need to take a step back and re-evaluate (I know I do from time to time). But as long as we keep coming back and making an effort, we'll figure this out.
