Five 2-Minute Hairstyles For A Full Fringe/Bangs
Thought I'd change things up a little bit on Scarphelia today and bring you something I haven't done before...
As some of you may know if you follow me on Instagram,  last week (after years of having the same plain style and length and getting sick of dead ends) on a whim I went to the snippers and got about 6 inches cut off the length of my hair, plus a big ol' full fringe chopped in. I've never had a full fringe before, or even really any kind of fringe (or 'bangs' as the yanks say) so I think it's an understatement to say I was like SWEET JESUS WHO IS THAT whenever I glanced at something reflective, and gazed longingly at the place where my lengthy tresses used to stretch to.
Curiously, cutting the lighter ends off also seemed to alter how overall color looked completely - now more of a plummy wine color instead of a bright orangey-red ginger.
All of this, however much it took to get used to, I have actually come to rather like. Personally, I don't think I look 'better' or 'worse' as such, I just feel like I have more of an 'appearance identity' now if that makes sense? I always used to feel like a blank canvas I had to paint up to feel like I was a somebody, but now, I feel kinda quite content in just being as I am.
It's nice.
Anyway, I thought I'd just share with you some of the sweet and super easy styles I've been toying around with lately that always looked a bit lacklustre before I had a fringe. Now there's SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!
Fun.

I guess I could've done a *bit* more with the rest of it but HEY.
Full fringes are actually delightfully easy to style and shape which was a rather joyous surprise. With wet hair, all ya gotta do is seperate it from the rest of your 'do, get a cone brush or comb and gently run it through the length of it brushing forward over your face, while following with a hairdryer on medium heat. Works an absolute treat, you don't even need any product and it leaves a bangin' shine.
If it goes a little too straight or in your eyes, just grab your straighteners and in one simple swipe, draw them down the length of your fringe whilst turning them slightly to curve the hair inwards.
And in under 2 mins you are good to go.

I've actually come to prefer this to the classic full fringe, as with just one simple part, it lights up the whole face (and makes it a bit easier to see) With a classic full fringe I almost feel like my hair can look a bit like a wig as it's so thick and often frizzy, but by seperating the fringe into two sections down the middle and blow drying them outward, it makes the perfect little frame above your brows.
As my fringe is still a little short, I just spritz a tiny little bit of hairspray on it to keep it in place and carry a little comb in my pocket wherever I go (for errant gusts of wind ofc)

I love love love this style - this is the one I wear pretty much errday when out and about.
I actually took in a variety of pictures of Brigitte Bardot to the hairdressers to explain what I was after because I could not be more diggin that 60's/70's vibe right now, and of that, she is QUEEN.
With a center part fringe, take two handfuls of hair from either side of your head, above your ears, then pull them together as if going to put in a ponytail. Brush them back to get rid of the middle parting on the crown, then twist the ponytail (which creates the beehive affect volume on top) and secure in place with a big clip.
Then mess all your hair up and pull out some wisps to create the ultimate shabby chic I'm-a-bad-bitch-who-don't-got-time-for-perfect-hair look. Add a lil ribbon over the clip for ultimate good girl gone bad glamour.

This ol' chestnut is what I wear for work or when I've got some serious shit to attend to that requires my full attention. (Anyone else find they can't mean serious business without their hair up?)
Simply comb away the majority of your hair into a ponytail (leaving wisps around the ears and sides of your face) then twist the hair tightly and wrap it round itself to make the perfect coil. Fasten with a hair tie, then pull on the sides of the bun to make it a lot looser and less compact, which makes it more comfortable and look more badass too.

This one is just a little bit of fun if you're going for something more quirky, and is just as super easy too. Comb your hair back as if going for the bun/pony tail, but the keep the middle parting from the fringe running all the way down the back of your head, seperating your hair into two parts.
Then comb them up into messy little buns of equal height on either side of your head keeping the little wisps around your face as before.
Dah-daaaaaah.
Space Buns.

And there you have it, some super quick and easy styles I've been wearing since I got a full fringe cut in! I don't think I'm totally sold on the way the color looks, but I'm going to refrain from dying it for a while to get the condition back up to healthy before I go ICE WHITE BLONDE. Fun right?
Anyway, happy fringing (carefully re-phrased from the 'happy banging' I previously wrote, but yeah why not that too? ENJOY LIFE) and feel free to share any tips/styles you have with me on twitter or in the comments below :)
