By and large men aren’t the most complicated creatures. But that doesn’t mean buying them a gift is an easy process. Let’s look at the typical options. Socks are handy, but not really exciting. Underwear is essential, but a little bit impersonal. And the latest version of MYOB is probably going to be handy come tax time, but that doesn’t mean it’s a great gift.

When it gets to that gift-giving time of year it pays to plan ahead. Read this guide and get ready to make your man’s day with the presents that will have him feeling like a million bucks – and have you feeling like a regular Kris Kringle.

BBQ

Ah, is there anything more manly than barbequing a couple of snags on a summer’s afternoon. Give your man the gift that doubles as a present for yourself. Barbequed meat smells and tastes great, requires minimal clean up and is a great way to trick your man into actually cooking for the family! Head online to a site like www.barbequesgalore.com.au to gauge your options.

Novelty Shirts

If there’s a clothing item men like more than novelty shirts, we don’t know about it. “Same Shirt, Different Day”, “What’s Wrong with this Pitcher?” and, “My Other T-shirt is Clean” are timeless classics you wouldn’t want your man wearing to a dinner party, but are fine for around the house.

Sports Memorabilia

There’s something about a framed jersey with signatures scribbled all over it that really make a man weak at the knees. Ask your man about his favorite sporting team, jump online and see if you can find yourself a bargain. If you buy it at the right time, sports memorabilia doesn’t necessarily have to break the bank (particularly during the offseason) and with a little bit of savvy online shopping it’s not too hard to secure yourself a sweet bargain.

Retro Video Games

Help your man unleash his inner 12 year old with a retro video game table. He relive the great triumphs of his youth playing Frogger, Ghallagher and the ultimate test of someone’s mettle, Ms Pacman. Again, jump online and shop around. With a little bit of snooping you can probably find some decent tables without having to take a substantial hip pocket hit.

Accessories

What man couldn’t use a stylish watch? Turn your special guy from zero to hero with a nice timepiece, fancy wallet or even some bling. A stylish European carryall is probably a step too far, so just use your best judgment when you’re figuring out what you’re going to get. Consider this a way to give your man a gift that is kind of a gift for yourself at the same time.

What do you think of this list? Are there any other tips or tricks that you would add? Do you disagree with any of the suggestions? What’s the best gift you’ve ever given a man? Leave any questions, comments or queries in the section below and thanks for reading!
