Five Things I Loved About My Trip to Minneapolis for Bloggy Boot Camp

Posted on the 15 October 2013 by Martinisandminivans @martinisandmini

I had the great pleasure this weekend of being a speaker for Bloggy Boot Camp in Minneapolis. It was an amazing experience filled with tons of new information, entertaining and wonderful bloggers, and the fun and thrill of exploring a new city. I had never been to this cool city before so I was psyched to take the trip to Minneapolis and explore.

With that said, five experiences stand out from the weekend.

1. Minneapolis has a sense of humor. How? Well, check out this picture. As a driver I didn’t find it funny, but I’m sure the guy in the booth typing in computer screen messages thinks it’s hilarious to say the speed limit is 55 in dead stop traffic. Yeah, I’m guessing he’s the guy who wore white socks with black jeans in high school. Actually, he probably still does…

2. Minneapolis appreciates mothers. See, this sign at the gas station told me so. Though, I’m concerned by how I would have to prove I’m a super mom in order to get the deal on Pepsi.

3. When going to Mall of America, you need to take a picture of your parking garage info because otherwise you will end up living proof of why that Seinfeld episode where they are lost in a parking garage is so funny. You should also be afraid when a parking garage is so big that they have to give an area THREE names. My space was on level 4, west area and in the state of Arizona. I was bummed I wasn’t in New York – I figured I would at least see someone try to rob someone in that area.

4. Just when you feel like you need oxygen and perhaps a hot young salesman from Abercrombie and Fitch to resuscitate you at Mall of America, you see this. And suddenly, you feel as if everything you have ever wondered about the after-life is right there in front of you. Because my heaven is a one filled with nutella and strawberry crepes. I believe St. Peter will shoot Redi-Whip directly into my mouth as I enter the pearly gates someday…

5. And lastly, I loved the experience of being with other bloggers who truly understood the fact that we aren’t competing with each other. We are building each other up so we can all succeed. There’s no picture for that one. It’s just an awesome feeling of being part of a community that you know has your back. Thanks for having my back bloggers.
