Friday Style: Come Sail Away

Posted on the 22 March 2013 by Kcsaling009 @kcsaling

I have a love/hate relationship with all the bloggers out there uploading beautiful pictures of their seaside adventures, their new spring fashions, their bright blooming flowers, and all the other signs of warmth and sunshine they’re experiencing. Why? Take a glance down at my Instagram feed on the right side of this page – you might still see signs of snow on the ground! So basically, I love seeing all your beautiful photos, but at the same time, in true Grumpy Cat form…I hate you.

While I’m waiting for spring to bloom here in New York, I’m taking advantage of the frigid weather and slush outside to collect more seaside and beach inspired designs on {of course} Pinterest to help inspire our design ideas for the Hawaii townhouse. I purchased the house the first time I was stationed in Hawaii and have since been renting it out, waiting for the chance to get back, actually live in it for a while, renovate it, and sell it. I’m not looking forward to seeing how badly it needs an overhaul {after close to six years as a rental, it’s going to need some serious love and care!} but I’m looking forward to the design process!

I won’t necessarily get to implement these particular designs, but I’m going to try to work in elements. Here are some of my current favorites:

It wouldn’t be a Friday style post without throwing a little fashion in with the decor. I’m feeling the need for something chic, seaside, and dressy – because I’m obsessed with the ocean right now, I played around with one of the Polyvore templates, and while it looks a little busy for my liking, it’s got that seaside I crave.

If nothing else, I love the florals. I usually don’t incorporate many florals or prints into what I wear, but it might be a definite mood booster to have some happy flowers around.

What do you think about florals in fashion? Or any of the seaside home designs and decor ideas I have posted? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Happy weekend!
