Posted on the 18 August 2012 by Courtyb34 @CourtyB34
I have been wanting to do this for a long time! I found this idea on Pinterest and have been wanting to make it! I finally did this! This morning, I made it! I made homemade hot chocolate and you don't have to freeze it, you can just drink it in a cute mug or an ugly mug and put whip cream on with some sprinkles to make it cute. Or just drink it in a cute or ugly mug without all the cuteness.
This is what they will look like:Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What you will need for this recipe is:
~1/3 cup & 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
~1 & 1/2 cups of milk (any kind... preferably 1%)
~1/2 cup of water
~4 tablespoons of white sugar
~1 tablespoon brown sugar
This is a very simple and easy recipe to make. So, in a small sauce pan, whisk together 1/3 cup of cocoa powder and 1 cup of milk together. You will use the 1/2 cup of milk and the 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder later.Whisk together on medium heat to low heat for about two minutes.Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipeAfter it is all whisked together, take it off the heat for just a second or turn down the heat and add in the 1/2 cup of water.Whisk again for two more minutes on medium heat and then add in the 4 tablespoons of white sugar and the 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeWhisk together on medium heat until it starts to simmer. Once it is simmering, then add in the 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and the extra 1/2 cups of milk.Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeNow, just keep whisking on medium heat for five minutes. Constantly stir and whisk. Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipeOnce the five minutes are done, take it off the heat and let it sit. Turn off the stove of course. Next, get out your popsicle maker things, the cups where you pour the liquid in and put it in the freezer and it turns into popsicles. Or you can do paper cups and popsicle sticks, that might be easier. Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipePut it in the freezer for probably 6 to 7 hours. These babies take a long time to freeze and stay solid.Once they are done freezing though, they are awesome!I decorated mine to look like it is hot chocolate... hot chocolate on a stick...Frozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeFrozen Hot Chocolate RecipeI know I have a lot of result pictures, but you know me and taking pictures of food. I love taking pictures of food and I thought I looked pretty today. I have had a low self esteem for the past year, I can say I look pretty can't I?I got scolded in seventh grade for complimenting myself too much... oh well. Ruined my self esteem for quite a while. I am getting it back though. Now, fair warning, these are pretty messy. Although, the popsicle cup things that we have, they have this bowl, you can see it right? It catches the melted part and it has a little straw so you can drink out of it. It's so cool! But... I dripped all over my self. HOW!? I don't know how, but it dripped all over my white tank top I was wearing. It serves me right... but also I thought these popsicle holders would do their job. Oh well, everything is fixed and they taste awesome! Like dark chocolate fudge sicles. Oh yesss. They taste great!I hope you enjoy!
