Ladies, we’ve broken through a glass ceiling this week.
No, we haven’t closed the wage gap, but what we have achieved seemed far less attainable than equal pay.
According to a recently published study, adult female gamers have unseated boys under the age of 18 as the largest video game-playing demographic in the U.S.
I know, I didn’t know that we were vying for that title either, but we’ve done it.
If you’re wondering how that’s even possible, take a look at the apps on your smart phone. If you have more than a handful of games on there then you’re partly responsible for this small victory.
If you’re thinking that your Candy Crush addiction is to blame, then you might be surprised to learn that the kinds of games that women are playing vary widely. They include games such as “Temple Run,” brain teasers, and traditional card games.
So at least we can take some pride in this small step forward. At least we’re not playing games in our parents’ basements.
