The truth about the long-rumored return of “The X-Files” is finally out there, and folks, it’s happening.
Although, I have to admit now that I did not stick with this pioneering sci-fi series to its conclusion (I was 6 when it started and 15 when it ended give me a break), it’s always had a special place in my heart. It was my introduction to the genre. In my own personal sci-fi history, before there was “Doctor Who”, “Fringe”, “Sleepy Hollow”, or even “Men in Black” there was (were?) “The X-Files”.
What will Scully and Mulder be up to this time around? Well those of you with your heart set on them surveilling aliens who’ve infiltrated Snapchat, you may be disappointed. Show creator Chris Carter, who’s returning along with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, has said the show will pick up as though it’s been on, “a 13-year commercial break.” Take that whatever way you will.
Whatever it means, fans far and wide (including this blogger) are outrageously excited about this shows return. Let the countdown begin…
