Happy Left-Handers Day!
One of my favorite obscure holidays, since it brings attention to the difficulties that nearly 10 percent of the world’s population suffer every day (usually in silence).
Just think of all the things that us righties take for granted every day, that are just a little more difficult for lefties:
- Cameras
- Scissors
- Writing
- Eating in a group setting — if you know any left-handers or are one, you know this can be a problem
But on the bright side, all you lefties do have some pretty impressive company. Three of the last five US presidents were left-handed, and Ronald Reagan was ambidextrous (so that’s like three and a half).
You can also include Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Marie Curie, Henry Ford, and the majority of the British Royal Family on that list.
The point is, you may not be right, but being left isn’t too bad.
