Google-Maps-Logo

In many aspects of life, it’s important to have a sense of humor. It turns out that cartography (aka- map making) is not one of them.

While most of us use Google Maps to get a general idea of how to get to an unfamiliar destination (“directions” just doesn’t seem like the right word), until recently, users were also able to make adjustments to the site.

It’s tempting to point the finger of blame at the big, bad Google, but they may have made the right choice.

While it’s easy to be all judge mental after some users made some less-than-clever changes to some of the maps, the fact that Google had to take this privedge away, is just sad. Yes, that’s correct, I implied that the ability to edit Google Maps is not a right.

So, those of you who weren’t mature enough to use Google Maps without adding an Android logo relieving itself on the Apple logo, I hope it was worth it. Now none of us get to play.
