Grease is the word this weekend. With Fox revving everyone up for Sunday’s “Grease: Live!” I thought I’d dedicate this week’s Flick Friday to the perennial, musical favorite.
Before I dive in, I have a small confession—I’m not a fan of “Grease.”
I’ll pause so you can get your gasps out of the way.
Specifically, I’m not a fan of the stage show. I’ve seen several professional productions over the years, and frankly, I don’t get why the show gained the popularity that it has.
However, I do enjoy the movie…and before I offend too many people, I’m going to move on to the 1978 film.
It’s by no means my favorite movie musical, but I can understand why so many people love it. It’s a throwback to simpler times when your only problems were boys, cars, and who you were going to the dance with. Plus, who doesn’t love “Summer Nights”?
