As a person who has been new to sewing I have collected a few things or should I say a lot of things that will help me be creative. I now have heaps of material, the sewing machine, books, elastic, pins and all the things that go with sewing for kids and me.

My material is stored in boxes and some folded on top of them. Are yours laid out and getting in the way? Mine will be soon. Storage might be the answer. Image courtesy of Bill Longshaw / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Being in a small house it is hard to have a craft room or space organised without moving things out to make way for the new or otherwise known as my sewing things. I am consistently tidying up at the end of my creative project. It would be wonderful to have a room or an area that I can leave my sewing/craft projects. This will not happen without a serious de-clutter and of course a solution for my storage issues.

I live in a house without any storage and it drives me mental. Do you have ample storage for things at your house? I go to bed dreaming of a house with cupboards, linen closet, and storage galore. Yes not the kind of things you would think I would dream of right? (I do dream of winning the lotto, holidays and other things, but storage would make my life so much easier)

If you work from home you probably find it hard to find room for files, furniture or other items that don’t get used regularly. It is a good idea to store away old and dated files that are only there for reference so it keeps your space clear for new items. Easy said, but where do you take it?

Using a storage facility like Fort Knox Storage can make your life easier. You can store all sorts of things:

  • Furniture
  • Moving house
  • Machinery/Mowers
  • Books/Documents/Files
  • Music – CD’s/Records
  • Sporting Equipment
  • Cars
  • Boats
  • Caravans
  • Household goods
  • Craft materials
  • Anything to do with your hobbies or interests

Storage facilities are ideal to allow you to redecorate the house, help with moving to another house, store important documents, or to give you the chance to have more space for you and the family.

Another great reason to use self-storage is to store your summer/winter sports equipment. You might not have room for the bike, camping equipment, or boat. Having a place to store these larger items is ideal.

Depending on the season some of your sporting equipment might not be used as much and therefore be difficult to keep at your home. If you are using a piece of equipment all the time you are more likely to try and find a space for it. Even if you do have to store this much loved item with Fort Knox Storage you can always go, take it out, use it and then put it back in the storage unit until next time.

What is driving you mad at the moment? What item/s would you love to see out of the house but of course not gone forever?

I am sure I am not alone in wanting more space and area to work or have fun in. Is your house like mine? Lacks storage? Do you have items in a self-storage space? Has it helped? Let us know.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post for Fort Knox Storage. As you know I have a small house and dream of more storage. I love the idea of taking my stuff to be looked after and in turn gaining more room and space for me and the family. I have used storage facilities in the past. They helped us move house, store things we wanted to keep and did not have room for and much more.
