Greetings from the world’s happiest soggiest place on Earth, Disney World.

I’m spending the rest of the week in this monsoon paradise with my wonderful family so I thought I would share a few pictures with you along the way.

We arrived yesterday morning in the beginnings of the lovely tropical storm Debby.

Like most Debbys we know (just kidding…kind of) she refused to go quietly into the night, bringing tornado like winds and pounding rain all day.

After grabbing lunch and unpacking, the rain still hadn’t subsided.

Luckily, Disney World is one of the few places where it is socially acceptable to wear a poncho around.  Note that I still didn’t put up a picture of me in my poncho.  I’ll wear it but I’m certainly not going to document it.

Once we bundled ourselves up, we headed over to the Polynesian Resort for our dinner reservations at Ohana.

At this traditional, family style Hawaiian restaurant, we chowed down on some majorly delicious food and drinks.  From Asian BBQ Pork Loin Skewers to Grilled Turkey Skewers to Marinated Grilled Shrimp to Lo Mein Noodles with Stir Fried Veggies to Hawaiian Coconut Bread.  The list went on and on.  But my favorite was definitely the banana bread pudding with caramel sauce.   It could have been my entire dinner.

Even though the crazy storm was raging outside, I still had a fantastic time because I got to spend it with a few of my favorite crazy people.

When we finished up with dinner, Debby was still raging.  Determined not to let her put a damper on our plans, we threw on our ponchos, hopped under the umbrella, and headed over to Magic Kingdom.  A little tropical storm wasn’t going to get in our way of seeing our favorite castle.

The benefit to being one of a few people who decided to venture out in the storm was that we got to get on our favorite rides in record time.  In the two hours we were there, we got on Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s A Small World, Space Mountain, and Haunted Mansion.  The hilarious part of it all was that I managed to stay dry in the rain but got hit in the face by water while on Pirates of the Caribbean.  Guess I should have kept my poncho on?

Unfortunately, it’s still raining today but that won’t stop us from having a great time.

I’ll just throw my hair up, put some waterproof mascara on, and pray that my poncho keeps me semi dry.  And if not, oh well, I’m already married.  No need to impress anyone anymore, right?

Hope you guys are staying dry!

What’s your favorite part of Disney World?
