With Halloween approaching fast it is always good to know some of the most important safety tips to insure that our children and families are all safe. Below you will find 10 tips that I feel is important for every family to know. If you have any other suggestions please feel free to comment and I will add them to the list.
Tip # 1: Always carry a cell phone, If your kids are going out without you then give them a phone if you have an extra one to ensure that they can and will be easily in contact with you.

Halloween Safety Tips! Tip # 2: In Larger developments there are many groups of children, In case of separation it is always a good idea to pin the inside of your child's costume with emergency info, including name, address and emergency phone number to get in contact with you.
Tip # 3: Buy glow sticks (4 approx) from the local Dollar Store, usually $1 per stick, and attach them to string, then pin this onto your child or tie it to their treat bag as a device to be seen in the dark assuming that curfew is not enforced.
Halloween Safety Tips!Tip # 4: Tell your children to only approach well lit houses and to avoid going down poorly lit roads or to houses that appear to be empty.
Tip # 5: Travel in small groups, preferably supervised by at least one adult. Make sure to do a head count every so often on younger children to ensure that the group has remained together.
Tip # 6: It is a well known tradition (at least in my home) that all candy is to be inspected for openings to ensure safe eating.
Halloween Safety Tips! Tip # 7: Drive Slowly on all roads in which it is possible to have trick or treating going on. ( A study conducted by the CDC shows that pedestrian related deaths are on average 4 times higher on Halloween night)
Tip # 8: Always know your way around the neighborhood in which you choose to trick or treat to prevent getting lost.
Tip # 9: Make sure to remind children to always look both ways before crossing roads

Tip # 10: Enjoy it to its fullest!!! Have a wonderful Halloween everyone!
