Happy Birthday, 24!

Posted on the 08 March 2013 by Mikidemann @mikidemann
Today is a special day. Another one. A day not like any other. 24 years ago today my older brother was born and he graced my family as the first born. I wouldn't like to be the first born. He always is takin' the heat! Brennon is quite the character. I always make fun of him for being nerdy, but honestly the dude has skills. He is such a computer genius, and unlike me he was blessed with the gift of patience. He will sit and help me learn how to code my blog for hours. Seriously those little social media icons... yeah he sat at my house for at least 3 hours helping me with that. Brennon is one of my biggest supporters. He always has my back whether it's reading my blog consistently or teaching me to drive a stick shift.
Happy birthday, 24!
My favorite story about my brother Brennon. He is only 16 months older than I am so we've always been really close with friends, grades and learning experiences. When I was about 15 I decided I was going to drive the family car. Which at the time was this HIDEOUS maroon colored Eagle Vista. They are horrible. Anyway, I don't know what happened because it's all a blur, but I stormed out of the house when my parents weren't home, and out to the garage. Hopped in the car and ended up in a field across the street. Looking back maybe I just was neutral. At the time it was a lot more traumatic. I remember my head bobbing up and down as I ran over the curb. The first thought that popped in my head was Brennon won't tell on me! I ran inside frantically to find him. I walked him out to the crime scene and he snickered. Put the car in drive and ran back over the curb and into the driveway. He never did tell on me. That's true brotherly love. I probably told my parents later thinking it was funny. It probably was.
(it looked like this but more rusty)
Happy birthday, 24!
Like I said the dude always has my back! I always will have his back too. It's hard to keep relationships in tact when life is always changing. Now that I am married and am on a bit of a different path I value our friendship more than ever before. Bren and I had some good times. When we weren't sent off on our own private vacation to Cancun (my parents didn't make the trip because their passports expired), when we ventured through Seattle together, or last summer at Powell with all our friends. He's the best big brother a girl could have!
