Add the additional peril of Emma Swan’s visions, revealing that showing kindness and compassion to these lost souls might just be the very thing that kills her, and I have to high-five the “Once Upon a Time” writers for adding a human interest story (ripped from the headlines) into the plot this season. Well played. Whether it was intentional or not, you all get a standing ovation…because that is one heck of a coincidence.
Putting that plot point aside, I do have to take a moment for this show that has managed to carry itself, rather strongly (even with a slight Frozen sidestep, that they were totally planning on) through five wonderful seasons.
Now, we get to sit back and enjoy the ride. Will Emma choose to help these suffering souls at her own peril? Will she tell her friends and family about the visions? Will the more conservative viewers pick up on the political plot? I for one can’t wait to find out.
