Happy Red Nose Day!
What’s Red Nose Day? Good question.For those of us in the United States, it’s a relatively new tradition. This is only year two. But Red Nose Day has been celebrated in the UK since the 1980s. It’s purpose being to raise funds for numerous charities that help children in need.
To put it more simply, it’s a telethon that uses comedy and celebrities to raise money for kids. In other words, its a good cause.
Tonight, NBC will broadcast their second Red Nose Day telethon. Although, if you’re not a fan of handing over your credit card over the phone, you can also donate via their website or at your local Walgreens. Donating in person has the added bonus of receiving your very own red nose, which you can proudly wear the rest of the day.
Okay, I will now get down off my soap box. Consider yourself officially informed (and guilted) about this awesome way to give back.
