Happy third day of the DNC!
Today, I had every intention of making another desperate plea to encourage my fellow crusaders to tune in for another night of the political circus. After a morning filled with coverage of the other one all but committing an act of treason by encouraging foreign hackers, it seemed like an important message.
Then this happened…
It’s the first trailer for the new “Gilmore Girls” season, and it could not have come at a better time. Not only that, but it also comes with the knowledge that we only have to wait till November 25th.
Not to say that the release of a trailer for a Netflix mini-series makes the problems of the world go away. Nor does it make what certain candidates said and will say in the future any less frustrating, but it at least offers a break from the endless stream of bad news.
And yes, the DNC and this year’s presidential election is still important. But it’s nice to know that at the end of all the chaos Lorelai and Rory Gilmore will be waiting for us.
In conclusion, keep paying attention. Watch the Democratic National Convention today and tomorrow, and listen to what both sides are saying. But if you need a break, and you will, the Gilmore Girls will be there.
